About Us

Mary Kate Jamison
CHILLOSOPHY founder & teacher
Mary Kate is a multi-passionate educator and perpetual student. She read her first book on the great philosophers when she was 12, and she has been adventuring for answers ever since. MK has been practicing yoga for 18 years, but really committed her energy and passion to yoga when she began her teacher training in 2019. Since graduating from the 200hr program at Tula Institute of Yoga, she has gone on to receive special teacher trainings in Meditation & Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, and Yin Yoga. As the Founder of CHILLOSOPHY, she cares greatly about sharing the gifts that finding the right yoga practice can bring to any student in all aspects of their life. She has found so much joy, so much more courage, and a depth of connection to self and spirit through these practices. She would love to guide you in finding or rediscovering your voice, your depth, your body, your self through yoga, meditation, and philosophy.
MK is also a trained scuba instructor, technical diver, whitewater guide, and heartfelt ocean advocate. When out of the studio you'll find her exploring outside with her husband Chris, their two amazing kids Jack & Brody (proud bonus mom!), and pupper Billie.
In gratitude -
Catalina Sposato
CHILLOSOPHY teacher
Catalina fell in love with yoga during a period of transition in her life and found the practice created a form of beautiful stability for her. She finds joy in motivating students to challenge themselves physically while encouraging them to be mentally present. One of her favorite things about the practice of yoga is that it’s ever-evolving - there is no such thing as “perfect” but continued practice evokes constant growth. Her goal is for students to leave her class feeling restored with an enhanced feeling of connection to self. She completed her yoga teacher training at the Portland Yoga Project and enjoys focusing on safe practices that are geared towards building self-confidence and mindfulness.

Destinee Hurson
CHILLOSOPHY teacher
Destinee began her practice taking Yoga-101 in college in 2011 and what she assumed was just another elective to fulfill, turned into a lifelong love and passion. After moving to Maine in 2018 she traveled to Rishikesh, India - the birth place of yoga - to receive her teaching certification and deepen her own practice. The physical aspect of yoga is what brought her to the mat but the mental and spiritual benefits are what keep her there.
Vinyasa is her passion and in her classes you can expect to use pranayama and asana in unison to create a harmonious and continuous flow. She offers a creative and adaptable approach, inclusive to all levels, allowing practitioners to explore various sequences while fostering a deeper connection between breath, body, and mind. Her aim is to help students build strength, flexibility, balance, and mindfulness through meditative movement that can be implemented on and off the mat.
Off the mat you can find her skiing at Sunday River, paddling in the local lakes and rivers, or enjoying her time with her partner, her family, and her two dogs.

Jude Stratus
CHILLOSOPHY teacher
Jude (they/them) is a massage therapist, bodyworker, yoga teacher, and movement enthusiast. For the last 15 years, they have diligently followed a thread of special interest in anatomy, kinesiology, somatics, embodiment, dance, form, and context.
They attended their first yoga class in college, and quickly discovered a practice that allowed them rest from the stress and dissociation from everyday life. Yoga offered a format for self-discovery and an evolving tool for dismantling harm, both personal and systemic, in our everyday life. For them, yoga is a constant practice of principles, exploration, acceptance, and rigor.
Their yoga classes and personal practice are inspired from the principles of body neutrality, physical accessibility, and play. They strongly believe that having a kind relationship to your body and place to move with it are fundamental rights, not exclusive to people who look a particular way or have particular physical abilities. They hope that their classes leave you feeling welcomed, seen, accepted, and connected.

Tavia Melhus
CHILLOSOPHY teacher & owner of Blissful Balance Pilates
Tavia is a teacher and student of Pilates, specifically helping people with special conditions and working on a master’s in science for Nutrition Studies to further support people in their health journey. She has faced many health challenges herself and has used Pilates and Yoga to improve her quality of life and work through the hard times since 2015. She has been diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers Danos Syndrome (hEDS), Dysautonomia, Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), among other health challenges such as Migraines, Endometriosis, Osteopenia and chronic pain, so she understands how difficult it can be to find exercise that fits each person. She was not diagnosed correctly until she was 40 and now has a Service Dog in training to assist her. Exercise has always been paramount to feeling well but also posed a challenge since her body is easily stressed and has a hard time recovering. Once she discovered the power of movement, she became passionate about sharing it with others. Finding the balance Pilates and Yoga CAN provide, when done correctly for that person, has been life changing. She has a background in teaching and non-profit work so helping others gain the balance they seek is her WHY. Her background and special skill set, partnered with lived experience and formal training in both Classical and Contemporary Pilates, has allowed her to provide sustainable, balancing AND positive classes for people of any level of ability. She lives in Western Maine with her husband, John, and three dogs- her Service Dog in training, a Golden Retriever named Remington, another Golden Retriever named Finnick and an elderly Corgi named Kayli.

Marie Hurrell
CHILLOSOPHY teacher & owner of Luna Ayurveda
Marie has been teaching yoga since 2018. Her yoga journey began in the Bikram hot room in 2011, around the same time she began massage school. Originally drawn in by the physicality of the practice, it wound up being the benefits to her mind and spirit that made yoga a regular part of her life. Yoga laid foundation for serious peace of mind, stability, connection to self, and comfort within like she’d never experienced before. Throughout 2017, she attended Yoga Moves' 200-hour Vinyasa yoga training under the guidance of MaryEllen Goodsir and several other wonderful teachers in Stoneham, Mass. In 2018, Marie certified in Buti yoga at The Cure Studio in Salisbury, Mass. Buti is an upbeat movement practice that incorporates deep core spiraling, tribal dance and primal movement, dynamic yoga, and cardio conditioning. In 2022, she certified in DEEP, a Buti practice that is more mat based aimed at restoring and conditioning deep core muscles, regulating the nervous system and rewiring our brains for greater balance and ease.
Her classes weave in elements of all the teachings she’s had the privilege of experiencing on her path. She treasures the teachings and philosophies of yoga as just as much as she does the physical practice of it all. Marie is deeply grateful to journey through this life with the teachings of yoga and to share these sacred wisdom tools with others through teaching, both on and off the mat.
Marie is a professional licensed Massage Therapist, an Āyurvedic health counselor, certified Vinyasa and Buti yoga teacher, and an avid student of Āyurvedic Astrology. She’s a highly sensitive and compassionate individual who strives to lift herself and others up to their highest potential. She loves to learn and to teach, is an eccentric clown at heart, and serious about laughter medicine and movement medicine.
